Follow our Development on Twitter
March 18th, 2010 by Macguffin in NewsIn lieu of the incredibly overdue posts I need to make about the game’s setting and mechanics, I give you this placeholder post!
We’ve created the AllHeroesDie account on Twitter. On it, Whitney (code!), Graham (art and game event writing!) and I (design, biz, etc!) are documenting our dev tasks in entertaining 140 character bursts. Come on by and say hi. We’re also looking for people to ask us specific questions about the game, to further spur me to get off my arse and write the belated blog posts.
So please, join the party. Hilarity will ensue.

Aww man… I really dislike twitter.
All this social crap leaves no room in the interwebs for oldschool people like me.

Sorry! I hear ya – I actually didn’t like the service much to start myself, but found that it was essentially like a big old IRC or global chat channel, except that I have a lot more control over who I listen to.
If you’re interested in trying it out, I’d recommend just following one or two people that you might find interesting and keeping your own tweets set to private. I have a couple friends who’ve tried it that way and warmed up to it.
Currently I don’t have a client – having something tossing random stuff said by people I find interesting on my screen is a ridiculous productivity killer. I just pop by the website every so often as a break and skim what people are talking about.

“Our further posts later this week will start to delve into the specifics of gameplay.” That was from the 2nd of march blog post. There is one week left for a march release. Do you expect to be able to still deliver that release? Or start publishing the developer blogs, to keep it more modest? Or do you plan to start with all of that after PAX? (I checked their website and I saw it was from 26th till 28th, and I read the goal of being able to show a decent build there).
Just curious what the current plans are.

Good question. Sadly, we’ve been pushing so hard to get the game into some sort of shape for PAX and the $5 Beta, that I’ve been unable to update things well on the site.
I’m going to -have- to get at least a couple posts up about the gameplay and such before Friday. Tempted to go find a cloning machine or similar.

Side note – we will indeed be at PAX, and the $5 Beta will be on sale. Those two things were the most-be-done issues, and why other stuff has fallen to the side.

Thanks for the update! Looking forward.

I hope the actual game-beta consists of more than a few pngs.
I love pngs! I’m always disappointed when a developer uses crappy jpgs for pictures. But somehow the word “beta” implied a bit more.

DOH! You jumped the gun!
I’m putting together both builds now, I’ll make sure you get the build one way or another once we’re set up.

He, I’m always looking for games I can follow right from the beginning (that is as soon as any kind of public access is available).

I figured being early with this game was worth a 5€ risk even if it turns out you are just giving away pngs.
Sorry for double post, misclicked there.
Also, “Heh” not he.
