Hey guys,
Long time no see! Thanks for caring enough to come back and harass us. :)
The short answer is that we're not going back to AHD yet. In the short term, the launch of MM was just the start of a marathon for us. Although it's live, there are a number of features we need to still implement, and we need to get it profitable. Otherwise Macguffin shuts down. So that's our priority at the moment - the odds of us getting to sustainability with MM are much better than with AHD. That's part of why we switched gears in the first place.
Will we get back to it later if MM does well? Uncertain. It seems a lot more likely, if we're successful with MM, that we'll continue doing social games in some fashion. That said, we do want to move past just being on Facebook. In addition to other regular social networks, we're also interested in bringing our games to Kongregate and other web platforms - essentially we're interested in bringing it anywhere that's worth our time.
I hear you when you say MM isn't as creatively ambitious as AHD. We have our sights on doing a lot more interesting stuff with our upcoming designs - this first one, we wanted to do something that was new and interesting for Facebook, but wasn't so out there that we'd get slaughtered trying to implement it. On that one, so far so good.
Sorry to not see this thread earlier - I check the forums almost daily, but this week was, of course, the exception to the rule. ;P
