Macguffin Games

   Figured this was worth its own thread, since a number of us play and love Paradox's games.

   To answer Rom's question, I played a lot of EU2 with some of the historical mods, and I played a lot of Crusader Kings with various minor mods, but no full conversions. Mostly these days when I play it's been EU3 with the Napoleon and Deus Vult xpacks, but I haven't done a lot lately - I just haven't had the time to really dig into a full run at one of those. I also tend to lose interest about 1/2 to 2/3's of the way through a given game, when you can kind of see where it is all going.

   Very much looking forward to Vicky 2!

   Deus Vult is a CK expansion. :P
   You mean In Nomine? I can recommend the newest expansion: Heir to the Throne. It adds a significant number of awesome features. Personally I like to play with Whole World Mod or sometimes Rising Nations, since they extend the map to include the whole world.

   Vicky 2 seems to be awesome, indeed. However, I have never played Vicky 1 properly. I couldn't get into it.

   Doh. Yeah. I meant In Nomine.

   I've meant to try Heir, but haven't had any time. Mostly right now I'm playing NetHack and Dwarf Fortress, since I can just put them down once I run out of time.

   What do those mods do?

   I had a hard time with Vicky 1 as well, mostly in the Economy. I really wanted to love it, and only ended up banging my head against it a lot.

   Mods mostly add new provinces, nations, trade goods, events, etc. EU3+ as it were.
   Magna Mundi revises the game immensely though, but it's getting it's own standalone game now, so it's the exception.

   Never played NetHack, only Stonesoup, but I've heard good things about it. DF is a must in any case. :P

   No, I haven't. Wow. That's a game that could steal piles of my time.

   NetHack is pretty excellent, I'd recommend giving it a go. It's definitely also a "Losing is Fun" game.

   @Rom - Let me know if that isn't resolved. We finished switching registrars on the site yesterday, and some of the settings were still percolating through the intertubes.

   @MarkDey - Yeah, that's the problem I have as well.
