I'm Finnish myself and got the game just now, and I was immediately struck by the Finnish names in the game, like Loviisa (a place in Finland and a female name) and 'House Kolmikärki' ('kolmikärki' meaning a trident). Is there a Finn in the team or does the language just fascinate you?

We actually have taken a good bit of our inspiration for the setting (but then went off in a lot of other directions as well) from Finnish myth. There are a couple events in the game currently that have surma in them, as well.
Also, although we've moved away from it in some ways, the original inspiration for the art style came from Gallen-Kallela's Defense of the Sampo.
