Thank you to everybody who has entered the beta thus far! We are in the process of cleaning up our registration system, but you will be able to tie your license to your MacguffinGames.com user account soon. We will be posting both here and on the main site and will email our mailing list once this functionality is available.

I read in the other thread about the resolution limitation, which I also have on my netbook. That is no issue, I'll just wait till that function is implemented.
However, now I tried to download it today on my other laptop, so I can actually try it, and it seems the download link from the e-mail expired/reached its maximum download limit. In the future, will I always have access to a new download link via my registration? (For now I'll just retrieve the download from my netbook).

If you got the same mail I did it says something about the download link only staying active for 24 hours, after that you have to use the second link in the mail to activate it again.Posted 2 years ago # -
Hmm, it only contains a link for support in the Plimus e-mail.
The download link was included in the macguffin e-mail.Is that support link what you mean?
"Use the link below to request product support, see your order information online, retrieve your receipt, obtain an official invoice, request refund or to have your product/registration keys resent (if applicable), do not reply to this email as your reply will go unread"Posted 2 years ago # -
Mine is a bit different, it says:
http://www.plimus.com/assistIMPORTANT: For your security the download link will only be active for 24 hours, if you did not have enough time, please use the support link immediately above to have the download reset again.

Sounds like mailing them is what we are supposed to do.Posted 2 years ago # -
The new blog post announces the new update on friday. I guess we should figure out how we can obtain it. (Though Scott promised to check the forums, so I hope he can enlighten us. :D )

Hey folks,
I'm back! I'm reading! ;)
Sorry about the Plimus thing. That link will indeed only stay active for a limited time.
Our plan is to move away from having them host the file ASAP - hopefully in time for this first update Friday.
So, the registration link-up is still in the works. In the longer term we're going to have you link your website account to your serial number, and then people who have bought the game can access a page that has all our downloads across all OSes.
For this Friday, I'm working with Adam to see what we can get set up in time - the most likely outcome is that I'll email everyone who purchased the game with a link to the update.
Hope that helps! Reading more forums stuffs later, more replies then.

Good to hear. :)
I'd settle for a rapidshare/megaupload hosting, as long as I can test the new version. :P
Till that time, there is little reason to play the current one, since most things seem to have been mentioned on the forum.Posted 2 years ago # -
We were actually just discussing in a meeting: it seems that there's a big pile of content that no one has run into yet.
We aren't sure if:
-People aren't getting there because of crashes in earlier content.
-It just isn't accessible with the way the game is currently structured.
-It doesn't have any notable bugs, so no one is choosing to comment on it.
I'm interested to see if our Friday update changes any of that.

Those two are the main points for me.
Crashes and game stoppers (failing to find a spouse once dooms your council to extinction for instance :D ) stopped most of my games in their tracks. Also, I think the exploration system really needs some changes and will comment on that in an extra thread.
