Any long time player of a 4X game ("explore/expand/exploit/exterminate") like Master of Orion or Civilization knows that how efficiently you begin your first 10 turns will have a massive outcome on the overall game. So here is my current minimax opening.
Turn 1
Starting hero (Lelia) explores the aspen grove in 9,3. (I'm not sure what relics are for, but lets start accumulating them. Venla (age 18) gives birth. Kalle (age 25) adopts.
Turn 2
Lelia explores the shore at 13, 4. Venla has another baby, and Kalle adopts.
Turn 3
Lelia explores 13,4 again and finds the gold mine. Funnel money back to the city. Venla and Kalle both parent.
Turn 4-9
One hero rules. The other two explore.
Turn 10
Lelia rules. The other two parent.
Turn 11-16
Repeat of turns 4-9.
About now, the adopted children will reach age 18, and can be added to the Council. Somewhere in here, Lelia will die. Kaille will also show up and can also be added.
Turn 20
About now, Venla's kids turn 18. Pick one of them to have two more kids and spend a third year parenting them. Make sure you balance the Family tree, until it becomes scrollable. Raising kids is better than adopting, because you have more control over their traits.
I've never gotten beyond this point without a game crash.
