I think I'm done playing and bug reporting for the night. (And there was much rejoicing amongst the developers!) Before I play again, I'd like an overview of what game elements visible via the GUI have anything in back of them. This is the sort of thing you should put in your future release notes doc.
For example, do the following have any impact on gameplay:
Does the "Ancestor Power" toggle do anything
Is there a reason to spend money raising the Max Pop?
I understand that the "Find a Spouse" button doesn't do anything.
Does venerating Ancestors do anything?
Are the "Cavalry" and "Flying" counters on the title bar teasers, or accessible content?
Is there a reason to explore blank hexes? (Ie, those without a grove, village, frost giants, or tower.) Or are all the events going to be triggered from one of these hexes.
Does it matter which hero "rules" in the city?
Next, how do you "win" the current beta? I've crashed, every time. Is it by finding the frost giants and the tower, and dealing with them however you choose? Is there a max turn limit? Max size of family tree?
And given all those crashes... I strongly suggest that your highest priority is to implement the "save/load" game functionality. I've pretty much decided what the optimal tasks to do for the first five years, and I'm tired of redoing them. And I'll be able to reproduce and document crashes a lot better.
